Start

Instant36 Theme (2020):
"Time has no place in our world."

Required Object: Towel (see if you can spot it in the film).

Once the prompt was announced, we immediately started developing the concept. With only 36 hours available, we quickly agreed on a lead scriptwriter and director to keep decisions moving.

We had already been in touch with a few actors before the event, so we could call them in as soon as the concept was set.

Production

Night

We filmed throughout the night at two main locations in Salzburg.

Since the locations couldn’t be prepared in advance, the biggest challenges were the cold and managing the shoot in the city center at night.

Our final location was the house of one of our team members. The garage became the main set, while the house worked as a place to warm up, prepare some food, and handle makeup.

Finish

Around 7 AM we wrapped the shoot and moved straight into post-production, spending the rest of the day on editing, color grading, and sound design.

Because only a few people on the team had prior film experience, leadership in each phase naturally formed depending on who had the most experience in that area.

In the end, the team finished the film, and thanks to the collaborative effort of the whole team we were awarded first place in the competition.
